Al Marooj

Al Marooj was established in 1984 and has developed over the last 21 years into a leading company in agricultural chemicals, fertilizers and seeds. The Company has it's Head Office in Greater Muttrah with six branches in Seeb, Barka, Suwaiq, Khaboura and Sohar with experienced staff of 25, who are well versed in agricultural science.

From its inception, the Company has successfully experimented with different seeds, chemicals fertilizers and tools and equipments to identify with world famous manufacturers and distributors. The Company's policy is to participate wholeheartedly in educating the farming community in acquiring the necessary technical skills for achieving optimum production in their farms. The company is fully geared to meet the requirements of farmers through the trained staff at their branches. As our name denotes, our efforts are to fully accomplish it's meaning, SERVICE AND TRADE.

Specific examples of remarkable results obtained by the company are:

* Achieving increased levels of production of POTATOES 15 Tons P/Hector. Introduced high yielding seed potatoes to Oman from Holland.

* By introducing high quality , disease resistant and disease tolerant SEEDS, helped farmers to get more from their crops with less expense on insecticides and fertilizers.

* Effective non-chemical pest control by using crop row covers

* Effective pest control by using specific CHEMICALS from Bayer Crop Science, Cheminova, Elf Atochem, Chemtura, Hockley, Cerexagri, Taminco, AAKO, United Phosphorous, Biostadt, Ciba, Aglucon.

* Effective utilisation of FERTILIZERS with trace elements from Water Soluble Fertilizers .

* Effective fumigation by Detia Degesch, Germany.

* Supply of high yield vegetable seeds

* Supply of Crop protection system and accessories

* Conducted feasibility studies and extended consultancy services to the farmers which enabled them to a profitable utilisation of their farm and inputs.

* Provide aerial spray of insecticides using helicopters and latest system.

From 2003 onwards we are undertaking the national programme of aerial spray of insecticides on Date Palms throughout the Sultanate of Oman on behalf of Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
